LSE Cities presents: Mexico City: inclusive actions towards sustainability

Centrally involved in the shaping of Mexico City since the early 80’s, the current Mayor of Mexico City Marcelo Ebrard led ambitious and innovative campaigns to face the city’s challenges in relation to public security and environmental sustainability. The lecture will address his government’s developmental priorities, making a case for social equality as being at the core of its initiatives to enhance mobility, improve public transport and restore public space.

Marcelo Ebrard has been Mayor of Mexico City since 2006. He had previously held numerous posts in the city’s government, including Secretary of Government, Secretary of Public Security and Secretary of Social Development.
