Review of the Alejandro Aravena lecture at LSE on 27 April.
Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena is a Professor at Universidad Católica de Chile and Executive Director at Elemental, a 'do tank' addressing questions outside the traditional realm of architecture.
In addition to Elemental's urban projects and social housing, Aravena's recent work include new facilities for St. Edward's University in Austin, as well as the Texas Mathematics Faculty, the Medical Faculty, the 'Siamese Tower' and the Architecture School at the Universidad Católica, Santiago, Chile.
Aravena became a member of the Pritzker Prize Jury in early 2009.
